About the Women Empowerment Program

The Women Empowerment Program exists to help Nigerian women break the cycle of financial dependence and build livelihoods they own. Through seed grants, practical training, and ongoing mentorship, we support women to start new ventures or strengthen the businesses they already run. Whether you trade in a local market, run a small workshop from home, or have a business idea you have never had the capital to test, this program is designed to move you closer to lasting financial independence.

Business Grants

Receive non-repayable seed funding of between ₦150,000 and ₦750,000 to start a new venture or expand an existing one, paid in structured disbursements as your business reaches agreed milestones.

Skills Training

Attend practical, women-only training in trades and business management, delivered locally so you can learn close to home and apply your skills immediately.

Mentorship & Follow-up

Get matched with an experienced mentor for at least six months of guidance, plus regular check-ins from our team to help your business stay on track.

Market Access & Cooperatives

Support to join or form women's cooperatives and savings groups that open access to bulk buying, shared tools, and new customers.

Digital & Mobile Money Skills

Guidance on using mobile money, simple bookkeeping apps, and online channels to reach more customers and keep your earnings secure.

Women aged 18 years and above Nigerian citizen, resident in Nigeria Starting a new small business or running an existing one with growth potential From a low-income household or facing economic hardship Able to attend training sessions and mentorship check-ins in your area Not currently receiving a business grant from another organisation for the same venture

Documents You Will Need

Gather these documents before applying. You’ll upload them directly in the form below.

  • Valid means of identification (National ID / NIN slip, Voter's Card, or International Passport)

  • Recent passport photograph

  • Proof of residence (utility bill, tenancy agreement, or a letter from your community or ward head)

  • A short business idea or plan describing what you sell or intend to sell and how the grant will be used

  • Photographs of your existing business or workspace, if you already trade

  • Two references (for example, a community leader, religious leader, or current employer) with their contact details
